L.A. Dodger? How about L.A. Asshole.

I've never liked Manny Ramirez. I think he's a fruity long-haired freak. And how to hear that he "settled" for a 2 year, $45 million contract because of the bad economy? What a self-serving, arrogant fucktard. I wish I could "settle" for a job that paid me over $20 million a year. Maybe then I wouldn't have to worry every day about how I'm going to pay my rent and buy my groceries.

I hope the Dodgers are the worst team in the league this season.

Jewelry

This is some of the jewelry I've made so far. The lighting in my apartment sucks, but it gives you an idea. :)

Pink and turquoise multi-strand wire necklaces with pendants.

Braided seed and bugle beeds in multiple shades of green.

Braided seed beads in teal, silver and black.

Silver and turquoise double-strand bead and chain necklace.

Close-up of the necklace above.

Turquoise, black and silver bead and chain necklace.

Detail of the necklace above. I love the silver wire beads. :)

Green and cream 60-inch seed bead strands. You can double them up for layering and wear two colors at a time to coordinate your outfits. I love these. :)

Purple and teal.

Black and pink.

Dark bluish-gray and bright pink.

Blue and black/gold.

Turquoise and white.

Old Emo Poem

Going through some old papers and shredding stuff, I found this partially-completed emo poem I wrote, probably sometime in 2005. Yeah, I was sad a lot back then.

Lonely heart
So frail and cold
Needs shelter from the storm
A shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold
It needs a roof to keep it warm.

Lonely heart
So meek and mild
Needs to learn to take a stand
To look the world right in the eye
But sometimes, it needs a helping hand.

Lonely heart
Afraid of change
Wishes things could stay the way they are
So that no longer would it have to wish
Things were different from afar.

Lonely heart
Without an anchor
To hold it in its place
It quickly turns from those around it
So none can see the tears that stain its face.

Lonely heart
Caught unaware
Of the pain that separation would bring
Wishes it could find a way
To teach itself again to sing.

And So It Ends, Part 2

Katie trying to keep Rosa from hiding behind a poster.

The scary Grim Reaper robes. I was trying to look serious and scary, but Rosa got me busting up right when she took the picture, so I look psychotically happy instead. :P

Couch jackets! These hideous jackets remind me of 1970s couches, so of course we couldn't resist trying them on.

Rosa tried on a "sexy" striped shirt underneath her couch jacket.

Will likes to try things on too. Too bad I don't have a picture of him wearing the wig some idiot tried to steal from another shop in the mall.

Becky's son David trying on the Hannah Montana wig.

Rosa really doesn't like having her picture taken. :P

MJ and BR

Janet and Judy posing behind the empty jewelry counter.

Playing rock soccer in the east entrance with a giant rock someone kicked in and left laying around.

Becky at her desk, wrapping Will's Christmas gift, a bra poster. :P

Troy swinging from the rafters before he jumped into a bin full of empty boxes. We all thought he was going to fall and break his neck.

And So It Ends, Part 1

Well, Mervyn's is officially closed now. It's hard to know what to think of it all. I made some good friends there, but seeing it slide downhill and empty out was pretty brutal. On the whole I'm glad it's over with, and I hope that I never have to go through anything like that again. I only hope now that I'm able to stay in touch with the friends I made there and that we can continue to be friends in the future. Over the last couple months, I tried to take a few pictures to remember my friends and the store by, and here is part one.

And the winner of best Halloween costume goes to Becky, who said that a little kid squeezed her "udders" and told their mom that's where the milk comes from. :P

Will doing what he does best, although this time he's eating pizza instead of rice.

Opening all the boxes of graphics and setting them out in the conference room was the first time I got teary since hearing the news we were closing.

Me and Lori, the purple girls. There were two other people wearing the same shade of purple that day, but we didn't manage to get them in the picture.

Emily hiding from the camera in the audit room.

I finally got her to pose, and this is what she gave me. :P

Joyce and Deb in the office.

Stone trying not to get killed by falling boxes in the truck.

Kyle N. looking sexy.

I don't think Rosa had any idea I snuck this picture. :P
